unMonastery candidate OuiShare Award 2014
OuiShare is a container of ideas, which primary mission is to push citizens, public institutions and businesses on the empowerment to create an economy of cooperation. An economy based on a sense of sharing, collaboration and openness that relies on networks and horizontal community. The basic idea is that the economy of cooperation can solve many of the complex challenges the world is facing and allow everyone to have access to resources. OuiShare is a non-profit global organization that mainly works to build up communities. OuiShare makes, as an incubator, collaborative projects around the topic of the economy of cooperation, as well as offers business services and training support to individuals and organizations as well.
Do all these ideas sound familiar to you? Because they are the same ideas that inspire unMonastery, the civic hackers’ experiment of sharing and cross design all under the same roof, at the moment in Matera, a project strongly desired by the Committee of Matera 2019.
After the success of the first edition, with over one-hundred of applicants and 5 winners chosen from a bottom-up system, OuiShare Awards returns this year, establishing a new prize. The 2014 OuiShare Awards aim to put under the spotlight initiatives of collaborative economies around the world, particularly providing support to develop the projects further.
The experts of OuiShare together with the partners of the initiative have pre-selected 17 candidates among the many applications: 7 out of 17 for the Collaborative Consumption category and 10 out of 17 for the Crowd-funding & P2P Banking, Open Knowledge, Open Governance and Makers. Among the 17 candidates there will be chosen 5 winners. How? Voting! Everyone can do it, from any corner of the world. Prizes will be awarded during the OuiShare Fest, the festival of the collaborative economy that is carried out in Paris from May 5 to 7.
